Testimonials

"We really enjoyed our hosts. They were wonderful and Giovanni, our guide, was great. I think one thing that made a big difference for us was that we had local people guiding us and showing us the area. It was a very personal touch to be able to sit down to dinner with our hosts and get to know them. I more like dinner with friends then part of a tour. We thought that was better than some tours that use Americans that are familiar with the area, but not native.

This was our first walking tour, but it will not be our last! Thanks for your help!!"

"The Great Umbrian Walk was just what we wanted, and we were very pleased with our walks, our guide and the accommodations. Thanks to you, Adriano and Giovanni, for your planning and effeorts to make our trip a wonderful memory !"

"I can speak for both of us in writing to you that we have thoroughly enjoyed our trip and cherish everything we learned in such a brief and condensed period. Giovanni must have been thoroughly exhausted though! We have great admiration for our hosts in having both given us a different perspective on Italy, and a deeper understanding of its history and current political environment. To be taken on a "walk in the woods" and experience history in such an alive way, to travel on a path older than we can imagine, but still in use, or to lift some shards out of a farmer's field and hold evidence of a highly developed civilization roughly 2500 years ago, was a thrill beyond words. I will never forget how Giovanni casually lifted a chunk of flint out of the dirt and commented: "Here you have it, they carried these things around to trade, so here's some Stone Age currency." It was wonderful to have such a knowledgeable guide who could make history out of a rock! Because the archaeological layers are exposed one right beside the other, history was not experienced in the habitual chronological manner, but rather we were catapulted through thousands of years at a time, sometimes several times an hour, and had to create an understanding of it all presented like that - an exhilarating experience!

Dear Giovanni, many thanks to you for making yourself available to us humble time travellers and to you Adriano for turning what could have been a boring trip to the airport into an interesting sight-seeing tour. We highly recommend this experience to all who want to make the best out of a very short time in one of Italy's most beautiful Tuscan valleys, the Casentino valley".

Claudia L., Vancouver

"Our accommodations were extremely comfortable and the meals were sensational. Our group was very congenial and our two guides, Gretchen in particular was so good-natured and kind to us. In short we loved it all and wish we were just about to go again. Ah well. Did I mention that the weather was perfect? Can't imagine a better trip."

Kim Hewton, Omaha

"If you're searching for a walk that accommodates your capabilities, broadens your knowledge of the wonderful and mystical land of Casentino and provides you with so much enjoyment that you're reluctant to return home, then search no farther than the Ecotouring Tuscany. Giovanni Caselli is a knowledgeable guide. The bed and breakfast in which you stay feels like home. Kudos to Adriano. We highly recommend this trip".

Sandy Strickland and Suzanne O'Byrne, NYC

"Actually, I went on the Tuscan/Umbrian Walk in Aug/Sept this year and loved it! Met some great people and had a lot of fun. The guide did a great job of tailoring the walks to our abilities. I also liked the choice of accommodations and restaurants, a nice variety. I'm recommending your walks to all my friends, and plan on going on another one next year! Thanks again for a great trip!"

D. Karimalis, Melbourne

"The hotel is extremely beautiful- the small touches provided by our hosts, the guide so patient and knowledgeable and the countryside so brilliant. I have been on many walking tours before, but this was the best - and it was the least expensive!"
